Black Media Futures is a half-day virtual conference exploring the current state and future prospects of Black media, in celebration of the 198th birthday of the Black press. The event features expert speakers and panelists sharing insights on the past, present, and future of Black media.
In the first of three AI for Community Media sessions, we'll look at ways to fight against misinformation and disinformation; and explore data scraping and analysis, and building graphics.
In the second of three AI for Community Media sessions, we'll approach AI with "cautious curiosity" and learn to harness tools to save time and work; and look at how to write prompts that prevent hallucinations and biases.
In the third of three AI for Community Media sessions, we'll explore what tools can do well and what they do poorly for journalists, and discuss the legal and ethical ramifications; and we'll work with prompts to create images and look at how to fact-check images.
