The Safety Series
This event is part of the Fall 2025 Safety Series, a three-part program from the Newmark J-School’s Journalism Protection Initiative exploring the biggest threats to media safety and press freedom in the U.S. Covering topics including shifting immigration policy; global declines in press freedom; the precarity of safe havens; and dangers to trans and non-binary journalists, each session highlights urgent issues while offering space to share experiences, strategies and solutions.
