Colleen Leigh joined the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in 2007 as an admissions/outreach counselor and became director of admissions in 2014.
She oversees all the activities of the four-person admissions office, including recruitment, screening and selection of applicants, and open house for admitted students.
Her first role as an admissions officer was for the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga.
After earning a B.A. in Communication from the University of Scranton, Colleen worked as a freelance TV reporter covering the Filipino community in the New York region.
She went on to get an M.A. in Journalism from Emerson College and an M.S. in Higher Education Administration from Baruch College, the latter while working full-time at the Newmark J-School.
