Alexa Maurer joined the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in July 2018 after working in higher education for six years.
As the administrative coordinator between the Student Affairs and Career Services offices, she will oversee a variety of services, such as orientation, commencement, and internship events.
She began working at CUNY in Hunter College’s communications department and later was given an additional opportunity to work in admission’s data processing. From there, she became an admissions recruiter for Hunter and then began recruiting for the New York Code + Design Academy’s web development program. She returned to CUNY as a scholarship specialist for York College.
A native New Yorker, Alexa graduated from Hunter College with a B.A. in Media Studies (Communications) and Psychology. She is currently working on her Master’s of Public Administration at John Jay College.
