With two decades of accounting and finance experience across the City University of New York (CUNY) system, Wei Zhang has served as the Director of Budget and Finance at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism since March 2026.
In this role, she oversees the School’s budget planning, student financial operations, accounting, payroll, procurement, and related administrative functions. Wei partners closely with campus leadership to advance sound financial management, operational excellence, and data-informed decision-making in support of the School’s mission.
A proud CUNY alumna, Wei earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the university. She is widely recognized for her ability to transform complex business processes into streamlined operations that improve efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and enhance service delivery.
