Austin is the President of Alley Interactive, a leading consulting firm for media companies, which he co-founded in 2010. Austin leads key strategic consulting engagements with large-scale media companies and non-profits and is responsible for Alley’s data analytics practice. Austin’s areas of expertise include media business models, analytics instrumentation and reporting, and large-scale content management systems. During his work with clients, he has built custom solutions to solve specific editorial needs, like an Affordable Care Act (ACA) Subsidy Calculator for KFF which accurately reported subsidies before the launch of the federal health insurance law.
Prior to Alley, Austin worked for the New York Times Company, the Economist, and The New York Observer. Austin is a graduate of the New School and of Columbia Business School, from which he received an MBA.
