This course takes students through the basics of religious literacy and introduces them to some of the core concepts for how religion, faith, spirituality, and the sense of the sacred continues to manifest in work today. Students will also address the variety of ways one can approach art that is explicitly sacred, sacrilegious, or even offensive, as well as how the space in which one encounters art influences its meaning.
