The newest Ravitch fiscal reporting program--a three-day session on local economic reporting--examines economic reporting, tax incentives, and inequality and offers workshops on small business, real estate, and economics. It will involve 19 journalists who work at nonprofits, American City Business Journals, Crain's, and major local outlets.The program is funded by New York civic leader and Newmark J-School supporter Richard Ravitch and pays all travel, lodging, and food expenses for participants.
The five-day fiscal session enters its eighth year with sessions on budgets, bonds, pensions, and tax incentives. The 26 journalists attending is a new record.
