Ms. Mullarkey career in photography began over 50 years ago at Life Magazine where she learned her craft. During her career she has been the Photography Director at: Rolling Stone Magazine; New York Magazine; Newsweek and Sports Illustrated.
She has been the Picture Editor on over 70 books. She produced and directed numerous HD documentary films and was a member of the management teams at a number of Internet Start-ups. She has curated permanent exhibitions at various museums. For six years she produced a multi-media shows for The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, Calif.
In addition, she has been a lecturer at numerous colleges and universities throughout America. She continues her long-standing commitment to mentor photographers. Ms. Mullarkey has been called a “National Treasure” by many of the most celebrated photographers of our time. In 2019. she received the NPPA’s Joseph R. Sprague Award in recognition of her lifetime achievement in the field of photojournalism.
