Trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming journalists face heightened risks amid rising intolerance and legal restrictions. This roundtable, co-organized with the Trans Journalists Association, will feature leading voices in journalism, advocacy, and safety. This event is part of the Fall 2025 Safety Series, a three-part program from the Newmark J-School’s Journalism Protection Initiative exploring the biggest threats to media safety and press freedom in the U.S.
